Sense Flew Out the Window

Whoosh!  I have been busy lately.  Along with all the things on my plate right now I decided to start a massive scarf project.  It has been dreadfully cold here and we all do a lot of walking.  At the request of my husband I started weaving a scarf.  I got my hands on an 8 inch rigid heddle for doing a balanced, plain weave scarf design.  I warped up just over 6 feet with a lovely springy merino and started on the weave.  The scarf went quick and I finished in just about 3 days.  I twined the ends, cut the fringe and hung the scarf on the coat peg by the door, ready for use in the morning.  Upon inspection the next day, the scarf had lost nearly 2 feet in length!  Absolutely not long enough for an adult man.  The scarf has been taken up by my beautiful boy who absolutely loves it.  What a save. I still needed to make a scarf and was struggling to find the right materials in the stash I currently have.  I did find some lovely hand painted cashmere that I thought would be appropriate.
